So, I have finally been sworn in as an official Peace Corps Volunteer. That was on Wednesday. It is Friday. I think. Well, as of this morning, I thought. I had to ask my friendly neighbor whether it was really Friday or not. The past two days has really been a blur. I really wish time went by a little slower during my time in Nairobi. The Deaf Education group left the Tea Tot Hotel in Machakos on Sunday morning (after my sprinting back to my host family’s house because I left my green jacket there WITH my passport still inside – what horrors would I have endured if I hadn’t retrieved it!? The family would most likely have kept it for me until they came up to visit.) for Nairobi. We pulled up in front of the AFRALTI hotel, where the entire Peace Corps 10-12 Education group had slept when we all first arrived to Nairobi two long-short months ago. It really does feel like 2 months ago but at the same time, it feels like just yesterday. The Math & Science group from Loitokitok arrived later in the day, which was lucky on our parts because we were able to get the rooms on the left side. It was the side with the best WiFi connectivity! :P UNFORTUNATELY for me, though, my iTouch sorta glitched out and asked me to connect it to an iTunes. Well, after trying on two different computers I realized that it must be on the ‘home’ iTunes. FML. I am now in Kenya with a nonfunctional iTouch which means I’ll be typing blogs only when I can come out to the internet cafe (should be much more often because I have a lot more free time on my hands than I did back in Machakos during training) and no more games. There’s a library at my school. Lucky me. Back to Nairobi. We did this and that-  namely sessions concerning safety and evacuation procedures. Let us hope it never comes to that in my service.

Uhm. My thoughts are a little jumbled up right now. I feel pressured to finish my session because I’m approaching an hour. (Damn Facebook, it is seriously the black hole of the ‘net always sucking me in)

Yes. I will continue my update soon. Today, I explored Meru town with my neighbor who was nice to be my guide for the day. I bought some fruit and bread for the house, even though everything else within is still a raging mess.

This is Josh, signing off.
