Here are picture of Kezdet! I think I’m going overboard with some of the things I may be bringing. Already, I have seven pairs of shoes that I want to bring. (3 of which are sandals, water shoes, and flipflops mind you) The packing list says to bring extra shoes for we’ll be doing a lot more walking than usual. Duh? Four regular shoes though? I may have to downsize on the load that I projected on bringing.
Today is officially 3 weeks away from the departure date. I am definitely feeling the pressure now – both emotionally and physically. It feels as if I’m standing on a gorge that’s rapidly widening and I have difficulty choosing which side to jump onto for safety for one side has 100% visibility where the other side is covered in fog. My entire body is telling me to jump onto the side that I know is safe but my spirit and mind is pushing me to jump boldly into the fog. There is no doubt about it – I am jumping into the unknown. Still, why does it have to be so hard! The cliched ‘no pain, no gain’ rings true here.
At least I’ll be sitting in the lounge during the 41/2 hour layover in Amsterdam, mooching their free food and booze. If I’m lucky, I’ll be boarding the flight to Nairobi a bit drunk where I can easily doze off and awaken 8 hours later to lions roaring?
