I’ve been wondering for some time now where the orientation will be for the Peace Corps. I have been secretly hoping for it to be in either Austin, Texas or Washington D.C. so that I can take one last look at some of the friends that I won’t be seeing for the next 2 years. Uber dream implosion. This morning I called SATO Travel, the agency that handles all of Peace Corps’ transportation business, to check whether they got my UPS packet for my government passport. That was the original intent but somewhere along the way, it turned into a call where they booked my flight to orientation on October 11th. I found out two things: I will be leaving October 10th,  earlier by an additional day on top of the 19 days from the previous November 1st departure date and second; I will be going to the city of brotherly love for orientation! Philadelphia, it’ll be nice seeing you again for 2 nights!

A bit off topic now – Bardot and Cinespace last night was entertaining at the very least. I am astonished to find the crowds so dwindled every time school comes around. I do remember grumbling about being unable to go out when school resumes, but it caught me by surprise this time around. Definitely a sign of the times for a rookie freshman college graduate.

Spent the day jackhammering cement blocks at one end of the unfinished pool. It’s finally finished so now there’s the other side. At least I know what to do this time around so there’ll be less blood mishaps. I look forward to how different the backyard will look when I return. A long awaited pool & spa party is in order for all of my loved ones :)
